Massage Therapy
What is massage therapy?
Registered massage therapists (RMTs) follow the rules and regulations
determined by the CMTO, including our scope of practice, which states:
"The practice of massage therapy is the assessment of the
soft tissue and joints of the body and the treatment and prevention
of physical dysfunction and pain of the soft tissues and joints
by manipulation to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment physical
function, or relieve pain."
Massage therapy has a therapeutic effect on the body and improves
health and well being by acting on the muscular, nervous and circulatory
systems. Physical function can be developed, maintained and improved
and physical dysfunction and pain can be relieved or prevented through
the use of massage therapy.

What to expect during your treatments
On your first visit, you will be asked to fill out a confidential
health history form. At the beginning of each treatment, your therapist
will perform an assessment, which will help you and your therapist
formulate a personalized treatment plan. Your MMTC therapist will
ensure an atmosphere of safety and privacy during every session.
Your comfort and level of pain tolerance will be respected throughout
the treatment.
